FC Nantes is set to strengthen its attacking line with the imminent arrival of Youssef El-Arabi. The 38-year-old Moroccan international striker, currently a free agent, will sign a one-year deal with the Canaries, as reported by *Ouest-France*.
An experienced addition for the Yellow and Green
With 47 caps and 16 goals for the Atlas Lions, El-Arabi brings solid top-level experience. A former striker for Caen and Olympiacos, he played last season for APOEL Nicosia, where he scored 14 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions.
Despite being 38 years old, El-Arabi remains a reliable presence in front of goal. His positional sense, finishing ability, and leadership could prove valuable for a Nantes squad in the midst of rebuilding.
A return to Ligue 1 more than ten years after Caen
Trained in France and first making a name for himself at Stade Malherbe de Caen between 2008 and 2011, the striker hasn’t played in Ligue 1 since leaving for abroad. His return to the French top flight marks a new chapter in a rich career, highlighted by a prolific spell at Olympiacos, where he scored 112 goals in 207 appearances.
With this signing, FC Nantes is betting on an experienced player capable of energizing the attack and guiding the squad’s younger talents.
