The Wydad of Casablanca secured their first victory of the season in Botola Pro by defeating Difaâ Hassani El Jadidi 2-0 this Saturday, during the second round of the championship.
After a difficult start marked by a loss to Wydad de Témara (1-3), the Reds needed to respond. This time, they managed to take control of the match at the El Abdi stadium in El Jadida.
Wydad opened the scoring in the 27th minute through Oussama Zemraoui. The attacking midfielder allowed his team to head into the locker room with a one-goal advantage.
Upon returning from the break, Paulo Sergio’s men confirmed their dominance. Silvère Ganvoula scored the second Wydad goal in the 59th minute, assisted by Yahia Attiyat Allah, putting his team in a comfortable position for the remainder of the match.
Defensively solid, Wydad maintained their lead until the final whistle and left El Jadida with three important points.
This victory also allows the Casablanca team to end a long period without success in the championship. WAC had not won a Botola match since June 8, when they triumphed over Olympique de Safi.
With three points after two matches, Wydad is truly launching their season and will now seek to confirm this reaction in their upcoming outings.
