After their hard-fought extra-time victory over Sierra Leone (1-0), Morocco’s U20 national team now knows its opponent for the semi-finals of the U20 Africa Cup of Nations. The Atlas Cubs will face Egypt, who triumphed over Ghana in a penalty shootout.
The Morocco vs Egypt clash, scheduled for Thursday, May 15 at 8:00 PM, promises to be one of the most anticipated matchups of the tournament. Full of confidence after their historic qualification for the U20 World Cup, Mohamed Ouahbi’s players will aim to secure a spot in the final of the AFCON.
The other semi-final will see South Africa face Nigeria, on the same day at 5:00 PM. Two exciting encounters that promise plenty of action, as all four nations still in contention have already secured their place at the upcoming World Cup.
For reference, the 24th edition of the U20 World Cup will be held in Chile from September 27 to October 19, 2025. Morocco will make its return to the competition, twenty years after its last participation.
