Oussama El Azzouzi will have to endure another period of unavailability. Bologna FC announced that the Moroccan international midfielder is suffering from a muscle injury in his left thigh, which is expected to keep him off the field for about four weeks.
The Atlas Lion felt discomfort during the Serie A match played on Monday against Lazio. Starting at kickoff, El Azzouzi then underwent medical examinations to determine the exact nature of his injury.
The verdict communicated by Bologna indicates a tear in the biceps femoris of the left thigh. The Italian club estimates the recovery time to be around four weeks, which will deprive the Moroccan of several league matches.
This injury also comes at a bad time on the international front. With an estimated unavailability of one month, El Azzouzi’s presence at the next gathering of the Moroccan national team appears to be strongly compromised. This is an additional absence to consider for the Lions of the Atlas staff as they approach upcoming challenges.
