Haiti leaves the 2026 World Cup without a victory, but with the image of a courageous and determined team. Defeated by Morocco (4-2) on the third and final day of Group C, the Haitian squad posed problems for the Atlas Lions for a long time, even leading twice in the score during the first half.

Already eliminated before this match, Haiti played without complexes. Sébastien Migné’s men took advantage of moments of Moroccan relaxation to make the Atlas Lions doubt, with a first goal scored after 52 years of waiting in the World Cup, followed by a superb strike from Wilson Isidor.

After the match, Sébastien Migné expressed his disappointment with the result but was proud of his players’ attitude. The Haitian coach emphasized that his team had “highly represented Haiti” despite the elimination, showing combativeness, courage, and a genuine desire to play.

Against Morocco, Haiti demonstrated that it did not want to settle for a role as a mere participant. Despite three defeats in this Group C, the Haitian team left the competition with a strong message: it managed to hold its own against opponents who were superior on paper, notably Brazil and Morocco.

This performance against the Atlas Lions will remain one of the highlights of their World Cup. Haiti did not prevent Morocco from qualifying, but it forced the Lions to dig deep into their resources to secure victory.

For Sébastien Migné, this journey should now serve as a foundation for the future. Haiti leaves the World Cup with regrets but also with the pride of having returned to the global stage and made an impression through its commitment.
