At just 17 years old, Abdellah Ouazane is experiencing his first moments with Morocco’s national A team. The young player emotionally recounted how he discovered his name on the list revealed by Mohamed Ouahbi for the upcoming matches of the Atlas Lions. He is among the forwards selected to face Gabon and Lesotho, among others.
Ouazane was following the press conference live after his training. Upon seeing the list of midfielders without his name, he thought that his first call-up would have to wait. “I didn’t see my name and I said to myself: it’s not a big deal, it will be for next time, inshaAllah,” he recounted. Moments later, his name finally appeared among the forwards.
A tremendous joy for the young Moroccan, who immediately called his mother to share the news. “It was a very beautiful moment and a great honor for me,” Ouazane explained, assuring that he is ready to give his best for Morocco.
Despite this early promotion to the senior team, the player remains grounded. At 17, he also sees this gathering as an opportunity to learn from the more experienced players in the squad and to continue his progression at the highest level.
