Neil El Aynaoui injured: Absence confirmed against Toulouse

RC Lens will have to do without Neil El Aynaoui for the 16th round of Ligue 1. The Moroccan midfielder is suffering from a hamstring injury. Will Still, coach of the Sang et Or, confirmed his unavailability: “Neil will undergo a scan at 5 p.m., but he will not be in the squad on Sunday.” This absence comes at the worst possible time for Lens, currently 7th in the standings, as they face 9th-placed Toulouse, led by Zakaria Aboukhlal.

El Aynaoui’s injury is a significant blow for Lens, which will need to reorganize its midfield for an important match in the race for European spots. Additionally, this forced rest could jeopardize a potential winter transfer, as was the case last summer when a last-minute move to AS Monaco fell through. The results of the upcoming medical tests will determine the length of his absence.
