Naoufal Bannis: six goals in five matches with Vitesse

Naoufal Bannis continues his remarkable start to the season with Vitesse Arnhem. Starting on Friday against TOP Oss during the fifth round of the Eerste Divisie, the Moroccan forward scored his sixth goal in five league matches and contributed to his team’s victory (2-1).

After a goalless first half, Bannis opened the scoring in the 50th minute with an assist from Nino Zonneveld. TOP Oss equalized twelve minutes later through Kyanno Silva, before a own goal from Justin Mathieu restored Vitesse’s lead in the 79th minute. The Moroccan was then substituted for João Pinto in the 86th minute.

The 24-year-old began his season by scoring against RKC Waalwijk, followed by a brace against Jong Utrecht. After remaining silent in the defeat against Almere City, he quickly responded by scoring two more goals and providing an assist on the field of FC Den Bosch. His goal against TOP Oss brings his total to six goals in five matches.

Thanks to this new victory, Vitesse now has ten points after three wins, one draw, and one loss. The Arnhem team can especially rely on the effectiveness of Naoufal Bannis, who has become their main offensive asset at the start of the season.
