Nairobi United promises to challenge Wydad in Casablanca

Nairobi United is set to experience a historic encounter this Sunday against Wydad AC in the group stage of the Confederation Cup. In their first continental participation, the Kenyans are taking on one of the giants of African football, backed by stars like Hakim Ziyech, Nordin Amrabat, Thembinkosi Lorch, and Stéphane Aziz Ki.

Despite the gap in experience, coach Salim Ali believes in the possibility of an upset.
“Getting this far shows that we are ready to face one of the biggest clubs in Africa,” he explains, pleased with the momentum of his team.
Confident, he claims to have identified weaknesses in the Red and White:
“Wydad has a strong offensive force, but their defense has flaws. We will try to take advantage of that.”

However, Nairobi United will have to cope without Yusuf Mainge, who is suspended after receiving three yellow cards.

Having defeated Étoile du Sahel in the previous round, the Naibos know they are facing a perilous away match at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium. But for Salim Ali, anything is possible over 90 minutes.
