After an important victory against Niger (2-1) in stoppage time (90+2) thanks to the substitutes, Morocco is now turning its attention to the next challenge against Tanzania. This match was marked by the decisive entries of Abde, El Khannouss, and Saibari, who truly changed the dynamic of the game. Their exemplary performances provided the Atlas Lions with the necessary momentum to secure the three points.

However, for the match against Tanzania, adjustments will be necessary, as Achraf Hakimi will be absent due to an accumulation of yellow cards. This could open the door for a first starting position for Omar El Hilali, a player from Espanyol, unless coach Hoalid Regragui opts to have Noussair Mazraoui play on the right defense while integrating the young Adam Aznou, loaned to Real Valladolid, into the starting eleven. Regragui seemed to be disappointed with the behavior of certain players, and this match against Tanzania will provide answers regarding which player was targeted by his criticism.

A victory against Tanzania will officially secure Morocco’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Currently at the top of Group E with 12 points, the Atlas Lions have won their first four matches, showcasing impressive form with 9 consecutive victories, four of which were by a margin of at least four goals. Their only recent defeat was on January 30, 2024, when they were beaten by South Africa in the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations (0-2).

    TV Schedule

The match against Tanzania will be broadcast live this Friday evening from 22:20 (French time) on L’Équipe live foot, as well as on the Moroccan channel Arryadia. Supporters can expect an exciting match that could bring the Atlas Lions closer to their World Cup dream.
