AS Monaco continues its European adventure. The club from the Principality secured a convincing victory against Górnik Zabrze (4-1) this Thursday at the Stade Louis-II, during the return leg of the Conference League playoff. Having already won 3-2 in Poland, the Monégasques qualify for the league phase with an aggregate score of 7-3.
Paris Brunner opened the scoring in the 30th minute before Mamadou Coulibaly doubled the lead just before halftime (43rd). Aleksandr Golovin then extended the gap as early as the 50th minute, allowing coach Filipe Luís to give playing time to several young players.
Safouane Benzahra and Anis Soubeir made their entrance in the 66th minute. Benzahra replaced Coulibaly, while Soubeir took the place of captain Denis Zakaria. The two young Moroccans participated in the last 25 minutes of this European match, which was secured by a fourth goal scored by Mika Biereth in the 78th minute. Janis Antiste salvaged a consolation goal for the Polish club five minutes later.
Having already been used in the first leg, Benzahra and Soubeir continue to gain the trust of the Monaco coaching staff. Their regular presence in the professional squad confirms Monaco’s intention to gradually give opportunities to young talents from its Academy.
