Morocco left the pitch with mixed feelings after their draw against Brazil. Solid, ambitious, and true to their principles, the Atlas Lions stood up to one of the tournament favorites, without hiding a hint of regret at the final whistle.
Present at the press conference, Mohamed Ouahbi praised the attitude of his players while reminding that Morocco did not come just to defend. “We have our principles of play, we needed to play our game and we did it well, we are happy. I am not sad, but we would have liked to win,” reacted the national coach.
The Moroccan coach also refused to limit his team’s ambitions to merely replicating the historic run achieved in 2022. “If you ask me now if I would sign to repeat the same journey, I would tell you that I would like to go further. It was a beautiful match, it’s one point, we would have hoped for more, but we will settle for it and progress in the next match,” he added.
With this point earned against the Seleção, Morocco confirms that it remains a team capable of competing with the greatest nations. But in both their discourse and on the field, the Atlas Lions have clearly displayed a higher ambition: to continue advancing, without complexes.
