The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has renewed its confidence in Mohamed Ouahbi. The Moroccan coach will continue his role at the head of the national team, as announced following the meeting of the board of directors held on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
This decision comes just days after the Lions of the Atlas were eliminated by France in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup. Despite this defeat, federation officials have drawn up a positive assessment of the Moroccan team’s performance.
The board members believe that this qualification confirms the progress made by national football. Morocco had already reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, and once again made it among the top eight teams in the world in 2026.
By keeping Mohamed Ouahbi in his position, the FRMF has chosen to focus on stability and continuity. The coach will now have to prepare for the upcoming challenges with the goal of preserving achievements and allowing the Lions of the Atlas to reach a new level.
