Eliesse Ben Seghir is available again. After several weeks out due to a thigh injury, the Moroccan international has been declared fit by Carles Martínez ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s trip to Augsburg, scheduled for Saturday, September 12.
Speaking to the press this Friday, the Bayer coach confirmed the return of Ben Seghir as well as that of Martin Terrier. “They are both fit, which is a good thing for me as a coach,” he stated, according to BILD.
This confirmation marks another important step for the Lion of the Atlas. Ben Seghir had already resumed training with his teammates, but his coach now confirms that he is ready to return to competitive action.
The Moroccan could thus rejoin the Leverkusen squad as early as this weekend against Augsburg and potentially play his first minutes of the season. This is good news for Bayer, but also for Ben Seghir, who will now look to gradually regain his rhythm after several weeks away from the pitch.
