The Renaissance Sportive de Berkane has officially announced the appointment of Bubista as the head coach of its first team. The Cape Verdean technician has signed with the Moroccan club until 2028, thus opening a new chapter in his career after several years at the helm of the Cape Verde national team.
At 56 years old, Bubista has established himself as one of the most respected coaches on the African continent. Appointed as the head coach of Cape Verde in 2020, he made history with the Blue Sharks by leading them to their first qualification for a World Cup. During the 2026 World Cup, held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, he guided his team to the round of 16, confirming the progress made by the Cape Verdean national team on the international stage.
Negotiations between the two parties concluded after several days of discussions. According to the press, Bubista initially wanted to continue his adventure at the head of Cape Verde alongside his new responsibilities. An agreement was ultimately reached, allowing the technician to take charge of RS Berkane.
With this appointment, RS Berkane entrusts its sports project to a coach recognized for his tactical rigor and experience in African football. The club, which will notably compete in the CAF Champions League this season, aims to maintain its momentum and continue to play a leading role on the national and continental stage under Bubista’s guidance.
