Jürgen Klopp wishes to persuade Younes Ebnoutalib to represent the German national team. According to information from Sky Sport Germany, the new coach of the Mannschaft had an extensive conversation with the German-Moroccan forward during a recent visit to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Photos released by the German club show the two men engaged in discussion at the training center. Sky Sport specifies that their exchange lasted a while and that Klopp, impressed by the qualities of the 22-year-old player, intends to personally convince him to opt for Germany.
Born in Frankfurt to a German mother and a Moroccan father, Ebnoutalib is eligible to represent both countries. The striker had already been called up to the Moroccan under-15 national team, but he has not yet made a definitive choice regarding his international future.
Just 18 months ago, Ebnoutalib was still playing in the German fourth division with FC Gießen, but he then made a name for himself with Elversberg before joining Eintracht Frankfurt. He has made a strong start to his new Bundesliga season by scoring a hat-trick against Union Berlin, despite his team drawing the match (3-3). This rapid rise has now caught the direct attention of Jürgen Klopp and the German Football Association.
