Boutaïb notably recalls that he did not come from a major training center. Before discovering the high level of competition, the striker spent a long time playing amateur football while continuing his studies. This unique trajectory did not prevent him from gradually climbing the ranks until he signed his first professional contract at the age of 27.
In his message, the former Lion of the Atlas specifically mentions Gazélec Ajaccio as a major step in his journey. The Corsican club allowed him to experience professional football, then Ligue 1, before his career took him to several other leagues.
His rise also opened the doors to the Moroccan national team. Boutaïb notably participated in the 2018 World Cup in Russia wearing the colors of the Lions of the Atlas, after establishing himself in the offensive rotation of the squad.
