Joan Laporta praised the remarkable progress of Moroccan football. In an interview with the show “Planète Foot” on 2M, the president of FC Barcelona placed the Kingdom among the nations that now matter on the international stage.
“Today, Morocco is a reference in world football. It performed very well in the last World Cup,” said the Catalan leader, impressed by the performances of the Atlas Lions.
These remarks illustrate the new dimension that Moroccan football has taken in recent years. The results of the national team, investments made in infrastructure and training, as well as the emergence of many players competing at the highest European level have strengthened the Kingdom’s reputation.
The praise expressed by Joan Laporta is particularly significant given his status at the head of FC Barcelona. It confirms the international recognition that the Moroccan sports project now enjoys, which is being closely observed well beyond the African continent.
