Paris Saint-Germain asserted its supremacy in Ligue 1 by defeating Olympique de Marseille (3-1) during the 26th round at Parc des Princes. Led by an inspired Achraf Hakimi, the Parisians dominated their rivals and stretched their lead to 19 points at the top of the championship.
Right from the start, PSG put pressure on with a first dangerous opportunity orchestrated by Hakimi and finished off by Nuno Mendes (11th minute). While Bilal Nadir tried to create danger for Marseille, his free kick (27th) and his actions in the box (32nd) failed to find the back of the net. Just before halftime, Hakimi delivered a brilliant pass to Ruiz, who set up Mendes for the breakthrough goal (42nd). Marseille then collapsed in the second half with an own goal from Pol Lirola following a cross from Hakimi (76th), sealing the victory for Paris.
Still unbeaten in the league, PSG confirms its overwhelming dominance and continues after a perfect week. Meanwhile, Marseille’s title hopes have definitively faded against a rival that is too strong.
