Shaqueel van Persie continues to stand out during Feyenoord’s summer preparation. The young Moroccan-Dutch striker found the back of the net again this Sunday against Rayo Vallecano, confirming his strong start to the preseason.
The 19-year-old had already made an impression during the victory against Club Brugge (3-1) on July 11. Coming on in the second half, he scored a header and provided an assist, directly contributing to two of the three goals for the Rotterdam team.
Back after a knee injury that disrupted the end of his previous season, Shaqueel van Persie is using these friendly matches to gradually regain his rhythm. His performances are also helping him earn points with Feyenoord’s new coach, Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Having already appeared with the first team last season, the forward now aims to secure more playing time. With two goals and one assist since the start of the preparation, he presents strong arguments to become a regular part of the Dutch club’s attacking rotation.
