The future of Oussama Targhalline at Feyenoord is looking bleak. According to ESPN Netherlands, discussions that began this summer regarding a contract extension have been halted. The Moroccan international, now relegated to a secondary role, is reportedly considering leaving Rotterdam before the end of the transfer window.
Under contract until June 2028, Targhalline is said to be disappointed with the financial offer presented by his management. The 24-year-old currently earns a salary significantly lower than that of several key players in the squad. Signed from Havre AC a year and a half ago for around 450,000 euros, the Atlas Lion had established himself as an important midfield player last season.
However, his sporting situation has changed since the arrival of Charles Vanhoutte. The Belgian has reportedly moved ahead of him in the pecking order for the holding midfielder position, while Giovanni van Bronckhorst also places his trust in Gjivai Zechiël and Luciano Valente. Targhalline played only fourteen minutes against Sparta Rotterdam before remaining on the bench for the entire match against Go Ahead Eagles.
According to ESPN, the Moroccan international with eleven caps is already considering several serious offers and wishes to join a new club this summer. However, Feyenoord disputes the portrayal of the negotiations with their player. While no departure has been confirmed yet, the cessation of discussions and his limited playing time clearly jeopardize his future in Rotterdam.
