The President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, confirmed that the Mohammed V Complex will be ready by the end of March and will thus host the much-anticipated Casablanca derby between Raja and Wydad.
Fouzi Lekjaa, accompanied by the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mr. Mohamed Mhidia, the Governor of the Casablanca-Anfa district, Mr. Aziz Dades, and the President of the National Professional Football League (LNFP), Mr. Abdeslam Belgchour, visited the site on Thursday to inspect the progress of the work at the Casablanca stadium, which is one of the venues selected for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
“The forecasts indicate that by the end of March, the complex will be ready. With the precise details on the progress of the works, it is certain and confirmed that Raja and Wydad will be able to play again at the Mohammed V Complex, especially for the Casablanca derby, which we will all experience in an exceptional and renewed atmosphere,” said Lekjaa.
A highly anticipated return for the supporters of both clubs, who hope to see their iconic stadium in the best possible conditions.
