ISTANBUL – In a stunning display of skill and determination, Fenerbahçe completed a remarkable Champions League comeback, overturning a first-leg deficit to defeat Feyenoord with a 6-4 aggregate score. The heart of this epic remontada was fueled by the exceptional contributions of two Moroccan international players: Youssef En-Nesyri and Sofyan Amrabat.

The second leg at home was a true test of character for Fenerbahçe, who entered the match trailing 2-1 from the first encounter. The situation got worse, as the guests added another goal (0-1, 41′), making it 1-3 in aggregate.

    The Fener’s remontada..

It took Fenerbahçe only 3 minutes to react, first with an equalizer from Brown after a corner by Szymanski. The Turkish side then took the lead with an impressive play initiated by Sofyan Amrabat and Youssef En-Nesyri. Amrabat’s long pass sent En-Nesyri who assisted with a header Jhon Duran for the lead (2-1, 45’+2), leveling up the aggregate.

In the second half, Mourinho’s side will demonstrate confidence and supremacy. First, with a masterclass goal from the Brazilian Fred (55′), then a fourth goal by En-Nesyri (83′). Not content with just providing for his teammates, the Moroccan striker secured his own place on the scoresheet.

Watanabe’s late strike for Feyenoord (4-2, 89′) offered a glimmer of hope, but Talisca extinguished it in stoppage time. The Brazilian’s fifth goal of the night sealed the victory for Fenerbahçe, ensuring that Jose Mourinho’s men advance to the Champions League play-off round. With this win, the team keeps its hopes of reaching the prestigious group stage alive.
