Eliesse Ben Seghir was ultimately unable to participate in Bayer Leverkusen’s victory over RB Leipzig (2-0) this Sunday during the 4th matchday of the Bundesliga. Announced as uncertain before the match, the Moroccan international did not appear on the match sheet. The Bundesliga now specifies that his absence is due to a hamstring issue.
This absence comes just a few days after his return to competition. On Wednesday, Ben Seghir played the last ten minutes of the victory against Celje (2-0) in the Europa League, returning to the field after a long period of unavailability.
The timing is certainly concerning as the former AS Monaco player had just started to regain his competitive rhythm. However, no official information has yet been provided regarding the exact severity of this discomfort or the potential duration of his unavailability. It is therefore still too early to discuss a significant relapse.
