The future of El Mehdi Maouhoub at Dynamo Moscow could be written far from Russia. The club’s general director, Pavel Pivovarov, confirmed that the Moroccan forward had requested to leave the squad in order to gain more playing time, while specifying that the club would consider a satisfactory offer.
“His motivation is to play more. He will leave the team if we receive a satisfactory offer for the player and for the club,” said the Moscow official, confirming that this initiative came from the player and not from the Dynamo management.
Arriving at Dynamo Moscow in the summer of 2024 from Raja Club Athletic, Maouhoub is contracted to the club until June 2029. Despite the confidence shown at his signing, the Moroccan international is struggling to establish himself permanently in a particularly competitive attacking sector, where Konstantin Tyukavin, Ivan Sergeev, and Yaroslav Gladyshev also play.
At 23 years old, the former Raja striker now wishes to take a new step by joining a sports project that would offer him more responsibilities. More playing time would also enhance his chances of securing a lasting place in Mohamed Ouahbi’s plans with the Moroccan national team.
Dynamo Moscow is therefore not closing the door on a transfer, but interested parties will need to meet the financial demands of the Russian club, which retains control over the situation thanks to the long contract of its forward. The situation could thus become more dynamic in the coming weeks, as several teams are already closely monitoring the situation of the Atlas Lion.
