The Moroccan women’s national team concluded the group stage of the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations with a draw (0-0) against Senegal on Monday evening at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat. This result allows the Lionesses of the Atlas to maintain first place in Group A and secure their qualification for the quarter-finals.
After their victories against Kenya (4-0) and Algeria (1-0), Jorge Vilda’s players approached this third match with the goal of finishing at the top of their group. Facing a Senegalese team seeking qualification, they delivered a serious performance in a contested and balanced match, with neither team able to find the back of the net.
Thanks to this point, Morocco wraps up the group stage with seven points, resulting from two victories and one draw. The Lionesses of the Atlas continue their journey in the competition with confidence and now turn their attention to the quarter-finals, where they will aim to confirm their ambitions in front of their home crowd.
On the other hand, Senegal is waiting for the results of other matches to determine its future in this 2026 Women’s AFCON. The Lionesses of Teranga can still hope to secure a spot among the best third-placed teams.
