The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has officially scheduled the hearing for October 8, 2026, to examine the appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) against the decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) that awarded the title of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations to Morocco by default.

This procedure pits the FSF against both the CAF and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). In its appeal, registered by CAS last March, the Senegalese federation seeks to annul the decision of the CAF Appeals Jury, which declared Senegal to be disqualified during the final and confirmed a 3-0 victory in favor of Morocco. The FSF also requests to be recognized as the winner of the CAN 2025.

The hearing will be held behind closed doors, in accordance with CAS rules. The parties have not reached an agreement to expedite the process, so the case will follow the usual timeline of the institution. After the discussions, the arbitrators will deliberate before issuing their ruling on a date that has yet to be announced.

Pending this final decision, the legal position remains unchanged: the decision of the CAF Appeals Jury remains in effect, and Morocco officially retains the title of African champion until the verdict of the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
