The draw for the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup 2025-2026 has produced the most anticipated matchup on the Moroccan side: a 100% national confrontation between Olympique de Safi and Wydad de Casablanca. The draw took place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Cairo, and it already guarantees the presence of a Moroccan club in the final four of the competition.

Safi – Wydad: A Place in the Semifinals Within Reach

According to the bracket approved by CAF, Safi will host Wydad in the first leg, followed by a decisive return match. Beyond the prestige, the stakes are clear: the winner will qualify for the semifinals, ensuring Morocco a representative at this stage of the tournament.

CAF has also confirmed the schedule: first leg on March 15, 2026, and return leg on March 22, 2026.

A Path Already Mapped Out to the Final

The draw not only determined the quarterfinals but also outlined the subsequent matches. The winner of Safi – Wydad will face the qualifier from AS Maniema Union – USM Alger in the semifinals, with matches scheduled for April 12 (first leg) and April 19 (return leg). The final is set to take place over two legs on May 9 and May 16, 2026.

    The Complete Quarterfinal Schedule

    • Al Masry (Egypt) vs CR Belouizdad (Algeria)
    • Olympique de Safi (Morocco) vs Wydad Casablanca (Morocco)
    • AS Otoho (Congo) vs Zamalek SC (Egypt)
    • AS Maniema Union (DRC) vs USM Alger (Algeria)

With this derby, the CAF Cup offers a quarterfinal filled with emotional charge… and a duel that counts double: for national pride, but especially for a direct ticket to the continental final four.
