Yassine Bounou stood out this Friday during Al Hilal’s convincing victory over Al Khaleej (1-5) in the fourth round of the Saudi Pro League. As a starter, the Moroccan goalkeeper saved a penalty from Musa Barrow in the 67th minute.
The penalty was awarded after an unusual situation. During a throw-in, Bounou passed the ball to Kalidou Koulibaly, who handled it thinking the game had not yet resumed. After confirmation from VAR, the referee awarded a penalty to Al Khaleej. The Atlas Lion, however, remained perfectly composed to deny Barrow’s attempt.
Al Hilal had already made a significant difference in the first half, ending with a 5-1 lead. Bounou played the entire match and helped his team maintain that advantage in the second half, contributing to their third victory in as many league matches.
