Yassine Bounou contributed to Al Hilal’s clear victory over Al-Fayha (0-3) on Thursday, August 20, during the second round of the Saudi Pro League. Starting and present throughout the match, the Moroccan goalkeeper recorded his first clean sheet of the season in the league.
The Atlas Lion was alert from the 17th minute, managing a long-range shot from Lázaro. He then denied a chance from Hugo Moura at the hour mark, before thwarting Fashion Sakala in the 82nd minute. These three interventions allowed Al Hilal to maintain their advantage without any worries.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic opened the scoring in the 31st minute, before Sultan Mandash doubled the lead right after the break (46th). Nasser Al-Dawsari ultimately sealed the visitors’ success in the 88th minute. Al Hilal could have even won by a larger margin, but Crysencio Summerville sent a penalty kick crashing off the crossbar in the second half.
Having already defeated Al-Faisaly in the first round (4-2), Al Hilal now has six points from two matches. The Riyadh club continues its perfect start to the season, while Bounou returns to a clean sheet after conceding two goals in the season opener.
