Moroccan defender Achraf Dari, a player for Al Ahly, was forced to leave the field early due to a muscle injury sustained against Pyramids FC on Saturday evening, during the 5th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
Starting in the lineup at Al-Salam Stadium, Dari initially felt thigh pain after a duel with Fiston Mayele in the 25th minute. Treated by the medical staff, he attempted to continue playing, but a relapse ten minutes later forced him to leave the field. Portuguese coach José Ribeiro then replaced him with Mostafa El Ash.
This early exit is a major setback for Al Ahly, struggling at the start of the season. The Cairo club lost 0-2 in this match and now sits in 12th place with 5 points (one win, two draws, and one loss). Meanwhile, Pyramids climb to 3rd place with 8 points (two wins, two draws, and one loss).
The extent of Achraf Dari’s injury is still to be determined, with upcoming medical examinations expected to clarify the duration of his absence. However, there is a strong possibility that the Moroccan defender will miss the September camp with the Atlas Lions, for which he had been called up by Hoalid Regragui.
