Bilal El Khannouss has turned down another opportunity to leave VfB Stuttgart. According to Sky Germany, Al-Ittihad submitted a €40 million offer to the German club late Tuesday night to recruit the Moroccan international.
However, the Saudi club’s approach will not go any further. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder himself rejected this destination, not wishing to continue his career in the Saudi Pro League. This decision quickly ended Al-Ittihad’s pursuit, despite the significance of the proposal made to Stuttgart.
This refusal comes a day after El Khannouss clarified his future. Mentioned as a target for Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, and Galatasaray during the summer transfer window, the Atlas Lion assured BILD: “I will stay. The decision has already been made.”
After spending a season on loan at Stuttgart, El Khannouss permanently joined the German club this summer. Under contract until June 2030, the Moroccan is expected to continue his journey in the Bundesliga, having been unconvinced by this substantial Saudi offer.
