Ismael Saibari had already shown a strong preference for Bayern Munich even before joining the Bavarian club. In an interview with Säbener 51, Bayern’s magazine, the Moroccan international recounted a revealing conversation with his agent.
The exchange took place during the Champions League semi-final last season between Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain. His representative asked him which of the two clubs he would choose if an offer were made to him. “I immediately replied: Bayern,” Saibari shared in comments reported by Bavarian Football Works.
At that time, the Atlas Lion was still playing for PSV Eindhoven. His spontaneous response shows that Bayern already held a special place in his mind, well before the official announcement of his transfer to Bavaria.
Now settled in Munich, Saibari is fully enjoying this new chapter in his career. “Wearing the Bayern jersey today makes me very proud,” added the Moroccan midfielder, happy to have finally joined the club he would have preferred over PSG.
