Ilias Akhomach continues to deliver decisive performances with Villarreal. Starting this Sunday during the Yellow Submarine’s victory against Levante (3-1) in the 7th round of La Liga, the Moroccan international provided another assist.
The Moroccan particularly stood out in the 54th minute. After a high recovery by Villarreal in the opponent’s half, Akhomach perfectly set up Alberto Moleiro with a backheel pass. The Spaniard then finished the move to restore the lead for his team (2-1).
Villarreal had previously opened the scoring through Ayoze Pérez in the 41st minute, before Iván Romero’s almost immediate equalizer. Georges Mikautadze ultimately sealed the victory in the 86th minute, allowing the club to win 3-1. Akhomach, for his part, left the pitch in the 67th minute.
This latest assist particularly confirms the good momentum of the Moroccan winger. Just a few days earlier against Málaga, Akhomach had provided Alberto Moleiro with the equalizing goal during Villarreal’s 3-1 victory. He now totals two assists in his last two league starts, an encouraging streak for a player who is gradually regaining an important role in Villarreal’s setup.
