Houssine Rahimi had a memorable evening with Al Ain. Scoring a brace during the comprehensive victory against Al Nassr (4-0) this Tuesday in the Elite Asian Champions League, the Moroccan forward was named man of the match after a decisive performance against Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates.
The Moroccan opened the scoring in the 25th minute before netting a second goal in the 63rd. His brother Soufiane Rahimi then scored Al Ain’s third goal in the 72nd minute, before providing an assist for the fourth goal. The two brothers were thus directly involved in all four goals for the Emirati team.
After the match, Houssine Rahimi paid tribute to his family and his recently deceased father. “My father and mother are the secret to my success and that of Soufiane,” he told the Emirati media outlet Hadath Al Riyadiya, adding that he wants to continue with his brother the legacy left by their father.
The former Raja player also expressed gratitude towards his youth club: “I grew up and developed within the Raja team, and I thank them for what they have given me, as well as to my father and Soufiane.” It was an emotional evening for Houssine Rahimi, who celebrated his return to competition in the best possible way.
