The diagnosis is now known for Anis Soubeir. Injured on Saturday during the draw between Strasbourg and AS Monaco (1-1), the young Moroccan is suffering from a sprained right ankle and is expected to be sidelined for about three weeks.
The medical examinations conducted this Sunday ruled out a more serious injury. According to information from L’Équipe, it is a classic sprain, which will nonetheless require a period of rest before a gradual return to training.
Soubeir was forced to leave his teammates as early as the 22nd minute against Strasbourg, after a contact with Ismaël Doukouré in the penalty area. His ankle twisted during the action, prematurely ending a match that was particularly significant for the Moroccan as it marked the first starting appearance of his professional career with Monaco.
This injury comes at a time when Anis Soubeir was starting to take on a more significant role in the Monaco rotation. Present in all six official matches played by his team since the beginning of the season, he will now have to wait before continuing his progress. If his recovery goes as planned, the young Moroccan could return to training at the beginning of October.
