Gessime Yassine, man of the match against Troyes

Gessime Yassine continues his excellent start to the season with RC Strasbourg. Starting this Sunday on the pitch in Troyes, the Moroccan international provided an assist and contributed to the Alsatian team’s decisive victory (6-2) during the 3rd round of Ligue 1.

While Strasbourg was trailing since the 9th minute, Yassine created a chance on his side before entering the box and setting up Jacobo Ortega for the equalizer in the 40th minute. Two minutes later, a cross from the Moroccan also initiated the action for the second goal scored by Diogo Sousa. He then participated in the build-up to Giovanni Reyna’s goal in the 57th minute.

The statistics confirm his activity: before his substitution in the 79th minute, the Moroccan touched the ball 52 times, including 10 in the opponent’s box. He attempted two shots, one of which was on target, and completed four of his nine dribbles. He also totaled 0.93 expected assists (xA), while FotMob rated him 8.6 out of 10.

His performance was also recognized by Maxifoot, which named him man of the match with a score of 7.5 out of 10. A week after his decisive double against Lens, Gessime Yassine now has two goals and one assist in three appearances this season in Ligue 1.
