Achraf Hakimi displayed great activity but was unable to prevent Paris Saint-Germain’s defeat against AS Monaco (1-2) on Friday night at the Parc des Princes, during the third round of Ligue 1. Starting on the right side, the Moroccan international played the entire match.
Very offensive, the Atlas Lion frequently made runs and took his chances four times. After an initial shot that was blocked in the 12th minute, his free kick was deflected by the Monaco wall in the 39th. He notably forced Lukáš Hrádecký to intervene with a floating shot in the 64th minute, before missing the target in the 87th. In stoppage time, Hakimi also set up Ousmane Dembélé, whose attempt was diverted by the Monaco goalkeeper.
However, his volume of play did not fully compensate for a certain lack of precision in the final third. The Moroccan sometimes lacked accuracy in his choices and was also caught out on the equalizer by Monaco. Flávio Nazinho was able to arrive unmarked at the far post in his area to level the score in the 58th minute.
PSG had initially taken the lead thanks to Marquinhos in the 31st minute, before being overturned by Nazinho and then Stanis Idumbo in the 72nd. After two draws and this first defeat, Paris has only two points and remains winless after three rounds of the championship.
