LOSC won on the pitch of Toulouse (0-1) this Thursday during the 3rd round of Ligue 1. The match notably featured Ilyas Azizi and Osame Sahraoui, both starting on the left side of their respective teams’ attack.
At just 18 years old, Azizi was making his first start in Ligue 1. Despite Toulouse’s defeat, the young Moroccan showed promising qualities. Dynamic and creative, he stood out with his ball control, changes of pace, and ease in tight spaces. It was an encouraging performance for the winger trained at TFC, who remained on the field until the final whistle.
Starting on the left wing, Osame Sahraoui was replaced by Dilane Bakwa at halftime, after a first half in which Lille was challenged by Toulouse. Davide Ancelotti also changed his left-back, with Calvin Verdonk making way for Romain Perraud. This double substitution aimed to revitalize Lille’s left flank. No physical issues were reported concerning Sahraoui, so his substitution appears to have been a tactical decision.
The Dogues finally broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute thanks to Ayase Ueda, who came on sixteen minutes earlier in place of Olivier Giroud. This victory allows Lille to raise their total to seven points and temporarily take the lead in the championship.
