Betis rejects €43 million offer from Everton for Abde

Real Betis has turned down a significant bid from Everton for Abdessamad Ezzalzouli in the final hours of the summer transfer window. According to information from Mundo Deportivo, the English club had offered €43 million for the Moroccan international, consisting of €35 million fixed and €8 million in variables.

Everton turned to Abde after experiencing several failures in the offensive market. The arrival of Folarin Balogun did not materialize despite the AS Monaco striker undergoing a medical examination. The Toffees also failed to recruit Joshua Zirkzee or Tammy Abraham before making this late attempt for the Betis winger.

However, the Andalusian management did not wish to part ways with the Moroccan. Abde’s release clause is set at €60 million, while FC Barcelona would retain about 20% of the amount from any future transfer. A sale to Everton would have also allowed the Catalan club to recover a significant portion of the operation.

By rejecting an offer that represented more than 70% of his release clause, Betis confirms the value placed on Abde and his importance in the sporting project. Despite the last-minute push from the Premier League club, the Moroccan international will continue his journey under the colors of the Seville club.
