Brahim Díaz made his first start of the season in La Liga this Sunday during Real Madrid’s convincing victory over Málaga (4-0) at the Santiago Bernabéu. José Mourinho positioned the Moroccan international on the right side of the attack, alongside Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Jr, and Kylian Mbappé.
The Madrid team quickly took control of this match on the third matchday. Bellingham opened the scoring in the 19th minute, before an own goal by Alfonso Herrero allowed Real to double their lead in the 26th minute. Mbappé then scored the third goal four minutes later, while Arda Güler capped off the Madrid success in stoppage time.
Brahim Díaz played for 65 minutes before being replaced by Yan Diomande. This appearance in the starting eleven marks a change for the Moroccan, who had started on the bench against Espanyol and then against Real Sociedad in the first two matchdays.
Having come on in the previous match, Brahim had found the back of the net against the Basque team, but his goal was ultimately disallowed. His starting position against Málaga thus offers him a new opportunity to gain ground in José Mourinho’s offensive rotation.
