Imran Louza is seriously moving closer to Panathinaikos. The Greek club has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Watford for the transfer of the Moroccan international midfielder, who has also already agreed on the main terms of his future contract.
According to information from Sport FM and the Greek press, the 27-year-old player is expected in Athens on Wednesday. He will need to undergo a medical examination before signing a three-season contract, with an additional year as an option. However, the operation will only become official after these final formalities are completed.
Gazzetta Greece estimates the transfer fee to be between 8 and 9 million euros. As the captain of Watford, Louza has had a successful season with 44 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing ten assists. His arrival would thus represent a significant reinforcement for Panathinaikos’ midfield.
The Athens club is also preparing for its return leg of the Conference League playoff, scheduled for Thursday on the field of Hradec Králové. After a 2-2 draw in the first leg, the Greeks will need to win in the Czech Republic to advance to the league phase of the competition.
