Ziyad Baha did not take long to stand out in the resumption of the championship. This Sunday, August 23, the Moroccan striker scored both goals for Olympique de Marseille U19, who were held to a draw at home by AS Saint-Étienne (2-2) during the first day of the U19 National Championship.
Starting in the Marseille attack, the Atlas Lion cub opened the scoring with a penalty in the 41st minute, allowing his team to head into the locker room with a one-goal advantage. However, the Stéphanois equalized shortly after the break thanks to Oswaldo Mendy (56th).
Ziyad Baha then thought he had secured victory for the young Olympians by scoring his double in the 85th minute. However, the Marseille lead lasted only a few seconds, as Nils Rised equalized in the very next minute to snatch a point.
Despite the collective regrets, the young Moroccan forward made a particularly successful start. African U17 champion with Morocco in 2025, Baha thus confirms his finishing qualities right from the start of his first full season in the colors of OM.
