The possible transfer of Ayyoub Bouaddi to Manchester City remains contingent on a financial agreement with Lille. While the situation seemed close to resolution in recent days, the two clubs have yet to reach an agreement on the valuation of the Moroccan international midfielder.
Asked this Saturday on TNT Sports, David Ornstein confirmed that the proposal made by Manchester City does not yet meet the demands of LOSC. “They have not reached the price requested by Lille. They have worked hard on this file and could finalize it, but as we speak, that is not the case,” explained the journalist from The Athletic.
Negotiations have been underway for several weeks, and personal terms are said to have already been settled between the Atlas Lion and the English club. The main obstacle remains the amount requested by Lille, which values its 18-year-old player at around 100 million euros. Under contract until June 2029, Bouaddi allows the northern club to maintain a particularly strong position in the discussions.
Manchester City remains interested, and a late resumption of negotiations cannot be ruled out. At this stage, no definitive break has been confirmed, but no agreement between the two clubs has been reached either. The transfer of Bouaddi to the Etihad Stadium remains possible, although it is not as advanced as some recent reports may have suggested.
