AS Saint-Étienne has officially announced the signing of Adam Baallal’s first professional contract. The 19-year-old Moroccan midfielder is now tied to the Greens until 2029, just six months after his arrival in Forez. This is a reward for a player who has quickly progressed through the ranks at the Saint-Étienne club.
Trained at the Mohammed VI Football Academy, Baallal later joined Union Touarga, where he made his Botola Pro debut at just 17 years old. The young midfielder has also made thirteen appearances for various Moroccan national teams, from U16 to U20.
Arriving at Saint-Étienne last January, he initially played with the U19s before establishing himself in the reserve team in National 3. Integrated into the first team’s preparation this summer under Ian Cathro, the Moroccan notably stood out by scoring against Lausanne (4-0) and then against Venice (4-3). He then made his first appearances in Ligue 2 against Sochaux and Clermont.
“It is a great pride to sign a professional contract with a big club like ASSE,” Adam Baallal said, determined to continue his progress. Sporting director Loïc Perrin praised the young Moroccan’s footballing qualities and attitude, as he is now firmly established in the Saint-Étienne project.
