The Moroccan international Taoufik Bentayeb has caught the attention of Genoa, which is looking to strengthen its attacking line during the summer transfer window.
According to an article published this Thursday by the Italian media Telenord, Genoa is considering the profile of the 24-year-old Moroccan striker as one of the possible options to bolster its offense, following the failure of several other leads. The Italian club is reportedly favoring a loan, even though the player’s value is estimated between 6 and 7 million euros.
Bentayeb is still under contract with Union Touarga, after spending last season on loan at Troyes. Having had an outstanding season, the Moroccan striker significantly contributed to the club’s promotion to Ligue 1, thus attracting the attention of several European teams. Previous reports had already mentioned Genoa among his suitors, alongside Italian, Belgian, Swiss, Greek, Turkish, Dutch, and Spanish clubs.
Genoa’s interest comes as competition intensifies to recruit Bentayeb. Olympiakos has also entered the race and is said to have made an official offer to Union Touarga, according to recent information from Foot Mercato.
Bentayeb’s future remains open to several possibilities. Genoa’s interest provides him with a new option to explore Serie A, while his final choice will depend on the offer submitted to Union Touarga by each contender, as well as the sporting project proposed to the Moroccan striker.
