Nayef Aguerd is seriously approaching a return to La Liga. Olympique de Marseille and Real Sociedad have reached a preliminary agreement for the loan of the Moroccan international defender, who is set to return to San Sebastián a year after his first stint in the Basque Country.
According to information from the Spanish daily AS, Real Sociedad will pay €4 million to OM to secure Aguerd’s loan for the 2026-2027 season. The deal also includes a purchase option set at €11 million. Marseille initially rejected a €2.5 million offer before the Spanish club increased its bid.
For his part, the Atlas Lion has given the green light to the operation and wanted to return to an environment he knows well. Aguerd had already worn the colors of Real Sociedad during the 2024-2025 season, at that time on loan from West Ham.
The deal is now in its final stages. The last administrative details still need to be settled, while the Moroccan defender will have to undergo a medical examination before the operation is officially confirmed. Unless there are unforeseen issues, Real Sociedad hopes to welcome Aguerd in the coming days.
