Despite the growing interest from several European heavyweights, LOSC does not plan to part ways with Ayyoub Bouaddi this summer. In a press conference, Lille president Olivier Létang reaffirmed his desire to keep the young Moroccan midfielder, considered one of the greatest hopes in European football.
“There is indeed interest from very, very big clubs,” acknowledged the northern leader, before adding: “I think Ayyoub will stay with us.” A clear message that comes as Manchester City is frequently mentioned among the clubs most interested in the 18-year-old player. According to Létang, several approaches have indeed taken place, but LOSC has no intention of letting go of its jewel unless an exceptional offer is made.
The club president also denied rumors of an agreement already reached with the Citizens. He emphasized that Bouaddi is not in a hurry to leave Lille and that continuing his development in Ligue 1 as well as in the Champions League is, in his view, the best choice for this season.
Under contract with LOSC, the Moroccan international continues to attract the interest of the biggest European clubs, but the northern club’s position remains unchanged. With just a few weeks left before the transfer window closes, Lille is showing its determination to build its project around its gem while remaining attentive to market developments.
