The future of Ez Abde seems to be continuing at Real Betis. Linked with AS Roma, the Moroccan international is currently far from a move to Serie A. According to several Spanish media outlets, the Andalusian leaders refuse to engage in serious negotiations until their release clause of 60 million euros is respected.
The Roman club has reportedly inquired about the situation of the 24-year-old winger, but the gap between the expectations of the two clubs remains significant. Roma is considering an offer of around 35 million euros, with bonuses, or even an effort that could reach 50 million euros. This proposal is deemed insufficient by Betis, which does not intend to lower its demands.
This stance is partly explained by Abde’s recent contract extension until 2029. The Sevilla leaders believe that their player is a key element of the sporting project and see no reason to negotiate a transfer below the amount stipulated in his contract. In the event of a sale, FC Barcelona would also receive a percentage of the operation, further reinforcing Betis’s desire to sell their player only at a very high price.
The player himself does not seem to be pushing for a departure. According to Spanish media, Ez Abde prefers to continue his journey with Real Betis, where he will compete in the Champions League this season. At this stage, the Moroccan winger has not given his green light for a transfer to Roma, despite the interest from the Italian club.
Having had the best season of his career, with 15 goals and 13 assists in 43 matches across all competitions, Abde continues to attract several European clubs. Besides Roma, Newcastle and Aston Villa have also been monitoring his situation, but are not ready to meet Betis’s financial demands.
In light of these difficulties, Roma is now exploring other options to strengthen its attacking line, while all indications suggest that, barring a turnaround, Ez Abde will continue his adventure in the verdiblanco colors.
