Yassir Zabiri could continue his development in Spain. According to information from Foot Mercato, the 21-year-old Moroccan forward has agreed to join Racing Santander on loan. The Spanish club, which will compete in La Liga this season, is finalizing the last details of the operation before an expected official announcement in the coming days.
Recruited last summer by Stade Rennais from FC Famalicão for an estimated amount of 10 million euros, Zabiri is tied to the Breton club until 2029. However, his debut in France has been complicated. In just six months, the Moroccan international has played only six matches, totaling 42 minutes on the pitch.
This loan is intended to allow him to regain playing time, to participate in matches, and to continue his development in a league known for showcasing young offensive players. Rennes continues to believe in his potential and sees this experience as an important step in his progression.
Before this path leading to Racing Santander, Yassir Zabiri’s name had also been linked to Olympique de Marseille and RC Strasbourg, two clubs that were monitoring his situation during this summer transfer window.
Having made a name for himself with the Moroccan youth teams, Zabiri particularly shone during the U20 World Cup, where he finished as the tournament’s top scorer. A new challenge in Spain could now provide him with the opportunity to fulfill all the promises placed in him.
